I got a post card in the mail today!
It was sent from Chloe when she was attending a Christian Youth Camp in France last week. Amanda (her aunt) signed up to go and Chloe's Oma worked it out so that Chloe could go as well. It was to take place at an old monastery somewhere in the south of France.
I really felt that it would be a good experience for her to go and it turned out to be much more than that. I had tears in my eyes after reading it. What she wrote was beautiful and I thought that I'd type it up and post it here:
Dear Mom,
I can't believe that this is my first time in France. Where I'm staying, in the South, it's so beautiful. Even though it's really cold, the view and the nature is amazing. When I first heard that Amanda and I were going to a Christian camp, I was a little apprehensive. It didn't sound like fun at all. But as soon as we arrived, I realized what a peaceful and happy place it really was. Even though I speak a different language, and the majority of the attendants speak German, this has been one of the best experiences of my life. From the very first day I was eager to return here again. There are so many good things about Taize! The church is amazing, it's not what I expected it to be. It's big enough to fit 4,000+people. And the 3 times a day that I'm Church, we sing songs in many different languages, and spend 10+min. in silence.
However, the best part about this camp is meeting new people. Everyone wants to be your friend, and everyone is so nice! Right now Amanda and I have made friends with some Swedish people who speak perfect English. They even taught us some Swedish, which sounds really weird.
Anyway, I miss you tons and I wish I could call you but the pay phones are so expensive. And I'm running out of space...:D The front is a picture of the Church during the night of lights! We are going to do that tomorrow.
Love, Chloe + Amanda

My kids Easter Holiday in Frankfurt...
While in Frankfurt, my kids Oma (Grandma), signed them up to a basketball camp. The boys told me that they had so much fun. It started from 8:30am till around 4:00pm so when they got home they were exhausted! That's probably a good thing...heh!

They are spending their Easter Holidays with their Oma and uncles and aunts. I have to wait for my visa to come through before I can travel. I miss them...

October 2 -At Sarnico Lake
It takes about 9 hrs to get to Crystal's place (from where I live) by train. It took so long cus I took all the slow, cheaper trains. But the trip was totally worth it! I had so much fun with Ginevra, she has finally warmed up to me and I enjoyed spending time with her. These are some pics from our afternoon at the lake near their house.
